Conversional and Diversional thinking.

C&D means converging and diverging, which are two concepts that are directly connnected to mindmapping and thinking.

On the mindmapping side of things it means when you try to focus the direction of the branch or even the entire map towards a specific idea or couple of ideas. Like the example below:

On the thinking side it means thinking about a specific answer without developing it further more. For example: What do turtles eat? They´re omnivore. I don't what omnivore, I just mention it.

Opposite from conversional is diversional. It means trying to expand from a single idea explaining and covering as much topics as possible or dessiered without getting stucked only on the main answer. An example would be like this:

Personally I don't know which one to choose because every situation is different. On an essay or a project diversional questions are the best because how easy it is to expand from there and get a big amount of text from just a single question. On the other hand conversional thinking is better on tests, on short surveys or blogs or on a descriptive text.
