C&D is the abbreviation of Convertional and divertional.This are two different concepts that are very connected with mind mapping, dabatting and thinking. Convertional and divertional are different Focus questions. What is a Focus Quetion?A Focus questions is a question that clearly specifies the problem or issue the concept map should have to resolve.
I will explain and give examples next for a better comprehension.
This are the kind of questions that guide you to the one answer.
In terms of the level of thinking this is a much more basic comprehension lebel thinking.
On the mind mapping side, you try to focus the direction off the branch or the map towards a specific idea. This is an example:
Convertional thinking or answering offers a concrete answer, which is better for tests,in the ones you need to give a clear answer.
Divertional thinking is very diferent to convertional thinkink, it offers an abstract answer. Divertional thinking is based in a stimulus, to generate a bunch of different solutions fore the same question, and then generates an abstract answer based on that. Divertional answers are more complete than convertional answers, and are better for debates and diskussions.
In my opinion, both concepts are very important and equally valuable, each one has a different function. As I said before, divertional is better for debatting or for a diskussion, while convertional gives you a short clear and concrete answer.
